Badiu Nation Research Project Y-Chromosome Lineage Variation Across Cabo Verde Data version: 2026-09-13 Article: https://www.badiunation.page/essays/ydna-island-weighting FILES aggregate-data.json contains the counts in article Table 2 and the scenario weights in Table 1. Each counts array follows the order in categories. calculate.mjs recalculates the frequencies and grouped results. badiu-nation-ydna.pdf is the accompanying article. Archived article: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22745204 Correspondence: research@badiunation.page RUN Save calculate.mjs and aggregate-data.json in the same folder. Using Node.js, run: node calculate.mjs The script prints the results as JSON. It does not send data anywhere. METHOD Island frequency = category count / island sample size. Pooled frequency = total category count / 1,257. Scenario-weighted frequency = sum of (island weight * island frequency). Multiply frequencies by 100 for percentages. Calculate differences before rounding; display percentages and differences to two decimal places. The combined category is A1a + E1a + E1b1a + E2b. The all-A-and-E subtotal overlaps other groups; do not sum overlapping rows. SCOPE Island means the reported birthplace of the paternal grandfather, not current residence. Data represent 1,257 participants across nine island categories. The weights describe a specified scenario, not verified census weights. Zero is an observed sample count, not proof of absence from a population. These categories do not measure genome-wide or continental ancestry shares. No individual genetic records are included. No downstream subclades are inferred. The article describes recruitment, laboratory methods, and classification.
